PIAROM DATES / Maryami Dates

Piarom Dates exist a mountainous area in south of Iran in the farthest northbound of HORMOZGAN province right at the end of the ZAGROS ranges where one of the most delicious semi-dry dates of the world is grown. This date is called PIYAROM / Piarom Dates in the local dialect. PIYAROM palms are mainly grown in the mountain slopes and are irrigated by the regional rivers through the gutters constructed in different levels. These palms are mostly fertilized by organic manure and no chemical is used in their crop storage stage.
Piarom Date or Maryami Date is another type of Iranian semi-dried Date. This Date is cultivated organically and free of pesticides and chemicals. Piarom Dates have dark brown skin which is fully attached to the flesh. If you consume this date type once you are getting permanent consumer because of very good taste and unique appearance. Piarom Date is one of the most expensive varieties of date in the world same as Medjool Date. The moisture of Piarom date is under 15 % that can be kept at room temperature for more than 1 year. The thin skin of this date is dark brown. Since the seed and flesh are tightly attached, it has an attractive appearance which can be rinsed completely. And, as fructose is the predominant sugar in this type of date, it is easily and quickly consumed in metabolism of the body. Accordingly, it is recommended to the people suffering from diabetes. Due to its pleasant taste and tempting appearance coupled with its other unique characteristics, it is undoubtedly known as the most important and most renowned date grown in northern HORMOZGAN province. This type is cultivated in HASSANABAD in KAZEROON, around DARAB, HAJIABAD, KERMAN and BANDARABBAS. The percentage of moisture in it is low, therefore, it is known as semi-dry. It ripens late and has high quality. In addition, it sells well.
